Monday's Games to Watch (11/19)

Today begins the first official day of high school basketball, and there are a few games worth watching in West Tennessee.

Big Sandy at Sacred Heart (Girls) -- I wll be here. Sacred Heart enters its second season of varsity basketball. Breanna Hunt leads the Lady Knights. Luz Mena was an All-West Tennessee member last season, and she is expected to have a big season this year.

Gleason at Greenfield (Girls) -- An all-Weskley County showdown to start the season. Gleason comes in loaded from last season and expecting to make noise in 13-A. But playing at Greenfield is no easy task. Gleason is led by post Briana Jones and guard Jocelyn Montgomery. The Lady Bulldogs will play tough defense. Greenfield lost three starters from last season. The Lady Yellowjackets are led by Brittany Peoples.

Camden at Huntingdon (Both) -- Camden comes to Huntingdon to open the season. On the girls' side, Camden is looking to be much improved from last season, and Huntingdon wants to be able to take that next step to wint he district and maybe reach the region semifinals. The Lady Lions are led by Kristen Capps, and Huntingson is led by Allee Maxwell.

Bolivar at Mitchell (Boys) -- Mitchell finished as runner-up in Class AA last season an beat South Side in sectionals and Liberty in state semifinals. Mitchell returns the core of that team. Bolivar is looking to get back to the state tournament after missing out last year, and that trip might go through Mitchell in sectionals. Bolivar is led by Chris Woods and Jerrious Sain.
