South Side (11-6, 4-3) at Liberty (6-12, 2-5) (Girls)
Earlier meeting: South Side won 66-57
Players to watch: South Side post Stephanie Tipler;
Liberty post Chelsea Jones
What to know: The Lady Hawks were on an eight-game
winning streak heading into Friday night’s loss to Chester County. The Lady Hawks don’t
want to drop two-straight district games. Liberty is on a four-game losing streak. The Lady Crusaders will also be looking for a win come
Friday.
Adamsville (9-7, 2-3) at Middleton (10-6, 4-1) (Girls)
Earlier meeting: Middleton won 46-37
Players to watch: Adamsville post Shakeema Dilworth;
Middleton post Deja Faulkner
What to know: The Lady Tigers picked up the road district
victory earlier in the season. This time the game is at home. According to
Middleton coach James Burkley, you must win all of your home games if you want
a chance at winning the district title. So this is one his Lady Tigers need.
Adamsville would love to upset Middleton on their home court and pick up a big
district win of its own.
Haywood (11-8, 6-4) at Westview (16-5, 8-2) (Boys)
Earlier meeting: Westview won 72-69 in overtime
Players to watch: Haywood guard Kyler Douglas; Westview
guard Jazell Baker
What to know: These two teams are battling for a spot in
the top four of the district. Westview is currently third and Haywood is
fourth, and this game will be a big determining factor of where these teams
will be in the end of the regular season. Westview had the lead through most of
regulation in the first meeting, but Haywood tied it up late. The Chargers
pulled out the victory in overtime.
South Side (13-1, 6-1) at Liberty (12-6, 5-2) (Boys)
Earlier meeting: Liberty won 69-63
Players to watch: South Side post Malik Hicks; Liberty
post Rashad Crisp
What to know: The Crusaders are the only team to beat
South Side so far this season. Liberty stayed close through the first three
quarters and pulled out the win with a strong fourth quarter. The South Side
seniors have never beaten Liberty, and the Hawks would love to earn that first
win on Liberty’s home floor.
Humboldt (14-4, 5-3) at Union City (13-6, 7-1) (Boys)
Earlier meeting: Union City won 66-64
Players to watch: Humboldt guard DeSonta Bradford; Union
City guard Malik Stocksdale
What to know: Union City won the first matchup on
Humboldt’s home floor, and the game was a close one throughout. Union City is
in first place in the district. Humboldt is two games
back in a tie for third. The Vikings need this win if they want a chance to
earn the No. 1 seed in the district tournament.
